Stopped in at the local shop the other day to see if I could find my son a lefty bolt .22, he's been shooting a Savage GV .17 hmr since he outgrew his Rascal. The .17 is nice but the kid burns through ammo so I figured he needed a .22 again. Ended up ordering him a southpaw B22, try something new.

Then, was browsing online and found a shop that had 4 Mk II FXP's in stock (light barrel, OD green stock, 3-9 Bushnell installed). I bought a FVXP (same rifle with a heavy barrel) a few years ago and I love it. Its my go-to .22, I rarely ever take out any of my others any more. Unfortunately I had already paid for and ordered in the B22. Might be looking to unload it here right away, or maybe donate it to the wildlife federation, not sure.

Anyway, pretty pumped. A rack full of these inexpensive rifles means I can keep all the kids shooting with standardized gear, with enough that they can bring friends along too.

My oldest son has the same rifle already and we never really noticed any real difference in accuracy between his and mine, only that mine is more muzzle heavy. These new ones should be easier for the smaller kids to manage.

I will be setting up a new range with obstacles for these hellions to get their training on. Gopher poppers and clays will be destroyed.

That's all, just wanted to share.

love my basic Mark II quite accurate had to remove the rear sight for the scope to work - burned through about 2k rounds through it in less than two months

I have a Mark II, Troy Landry (Choot em) edition with the shorter treaded barrel. Have a 3x9 Bushnell 3200 Elite on it and it’s totally deadly on varmint’s around the property. It took over from my 17HMR that was awesome as well.

I love shooting rim fires with other people , it’s fun and unlikely to cause ear damage without using plugs . Social and fun , it’s great to watch the little ones learning how to shoot especially with their moms and dads ...teaches many important lessons that will help them in future being safe when handling all kinds of tools .

Good on you! The family that shoots together, stays together.
