I had to try out my 'new' gun so I went out for a bit and shot some paper @ 50 yards with CCI MiniMags. It was pretty windy at times and my target would get blown over and the rest wasn't the greatest, but I had fun and I think the gun would have potential in the right hands. The one group would have been really nice if I hadn't pulled the shot. I will have to buy a decent rest and rear bag. I think this could be fun. All groups were 5 shots. Do these GM barrels need to be broken in, or just shoot and clean?

barrel break-in.... some says it matters others don't. I think it does.
another note...some barrels like to be shot dirty, others clean.
and as you may already know, different types/brand of ammo will also affect accuracy greatly.

have fun;)

KDX,

Nice shooting given your set up, card table and folding chair with 3 sand bags and wind. I bet it would do fantastic with a solid bench, front rest, rear bag, and calm conditions.

Barrel break in, There may be a few burrs kicked up by the chamber reamer, I don't know how many lubed lead bullets would be required to knock them down, otherwise just shoot it, and clean as necessary. Lead, lube or carbon build up just in front of the chamber will kill accuracy. Bullet is swaged small going through this. The tightest point of the bore should be a the muzzle for best accuracy.

Good shooting,

another q? what (magnification) scope do you have up top?
Bushnell Legend 5-15x40AO. The card table is actually part of the CRV. They made them as picnic tables or something and they are under the carpet in the rear cargo area. Nice touch I guess. What is a decent front rest to get that won't break the bank?
