My experience in shooting the AB shows me it acts both like the Partition and the Ballistic Tip. The former hit, even at longer ranges, makes the tip being "explosive" while the rear part of the bullet perfectly mushrooms and goes through the game. I never recovered a AB bullet form a game, but I tried it through different medias and the mushroom was always almost perfect in shape and weight remained high (but it's always missig the front part). I like it very much as it comes through both sides of the games, unlike the BT which tends to completely explode after the former hit.

The OP is looking for high BC bullet which performs like a Partition. The Berger VLD is a match bullet which some use for hunting. It performs like a match bullet and rarely will it result in an exit hole or deep penetration with controlled expansion.
It is mystery to me that all posters are omitting the fact that partition are lead containing bullets and shooting them introduces lead to venison... and adding tip to them would not eliminate lead from your diet...
I've posted this many times for many years now as I am using monolith, lead free bullets for 20 years or so...I think that we have better alternatives than inventing better lead containing projectile.
Some of you claim that 1$ for bullet tip sets limit on what you want to spend to hunt Large game.... are you not aware that some duck loads are 3-5 $ per round???
I know Chronic mental Retardation is listed as chronic lead toxicity....so you can chew on lead weights and feel good about it....

The animals I have shot didn't live long enough for the lead to go through their system.
I cannot imagine how our hunting ancestors ever survived after eating all that game shot with lead and jacketed lead bullets
You can preach away all you like, but lead in the meat is such a miniscule issue that most can safely ignore it altogether.
The fact is, lead vapors are immensely more toxic than any particles of metallic lead in the meat.
If one happens to ingest a small particle of lead into his stomach, it is highly unlikely that a measurable amount would be digested.
Most will pass out, undigested, just like other wastes.
Only in a bird's digestive tract does the lead get ground up and absorbed.
And don't bother referring me to the websites with the reports on lead in meat from bullets.
I have read many, and am thoroughly unconvinced of a real danger.
Even the "experts" cannot agree as to whether there is reason for alarm or not.
Mental retardation? Not a chance it would be from the lead that ends up in the meat we eat that was shot with lead containing bullets.
FWIW, I do use monometal bullets in certain applications since they shoot so well in those particular rifles.
I really care less what a bullet costs, since it is a small part of the hunt anyway.

I agree. I was sold on the Accubond after recovering this bullet from under the hide on the farside after it penetrated both shoulders of a Moose.
The shot was at very close range, ~20 - 30 yards from a 300 RUM. Impact velocity would have been right around 3500 fps.
If a bullet can look like this after that extreme test, I won't worry about it over expanding or coming apart on more reasonable shots.
I mostly use the 200 gn AB in my RUM now, this one is a 165. I don't recall the retained weight but it was decent.
I've shot several moose and deer with Accubonds and this is the only one that didn't exit and it was very close to doing so.
The Accubond will do what the Partition does but with the BC of a Ballistic Tip, so, OP you've already got your wish IMO.
Someone mentioned earlier that changing the tip of the Partition would do little to change it's BC and that it's the Boat Tail of the Ballistic Tip that makes it's BC higher. I agree. A plastic tipped Partition would have nearly the same BC as the lead tipped one.

The front part (near the tip) of the accubond is not bonded. That's why it opens easily. The rest is bonded.

Just a little note about the boattails on Nosler bullets.
According to Brian Litz, "Author of Applied Ballistics", the angle of the nosler boattails is slightly too steep. The angle actually causes a vortex and minimizes the boattail advantage. Interesting eh?
Being the OP, I was just thinking out loud what would be nice to try.
The Nosler Partition with a ballistic style tip, and the base that they already have wiuld be nice.
I normally dont shoot at game so far away that I "need" a boattail to save me from a hit or miss. Boattails have no advantage at normal hunting ranges anyhow.
If I am shooting at longrange target (1000 yards +), the VLD family will be at the forefront. They are simply the best bullet for that application.
Have fun guys and keep it simple. It tends to be more productive that way.

I as well had the same thought or wishes as you............a Nosler partition with a polypropylene tip and a boat tail. The BC should be better and the SD the same, however will they (Nosler) do something like that?
Will it jeopardize the accubond sales? Will they want to keep it traditional and not change it? Will the price go up if they do change the partition? For myself personally, I don't think it will make much of a difference if they did manufacture our dream bullet. I look at the big picture where my average killshot on big game is about 125 to 150 yards out of 130 animals. Therefore the higher BC nor the poly tip will not make any difference in my dream bullet..............hence, I'm not along range hunter/shooter and love sneeking up on my game.
