Why wish GT's? you can have nearly the same gun in the MR223. Just a bit shorter ras, more accurate non-crome lined barrel (a bit heavier profile under the ras than the IAR).
Just go buy one, although it's only semi-auto!

That's correct. Although some Reserve units are still stuck with the A1s. I'm right handed so the ambi-dexterious functions on the A2 make no difference but the OD furniture is good for spring/summer/fall training or forest-land deployment. Breaks up the image, but even the soldier could camouflage it on their own. Would be good if unit CQs also got white pattern furniture with the A2s to switch off for winter training (but no cares that much). With the telescoping stocks, which I find as the best feature of the A2s, it could be easily done.

So ya, the telescoping stock and front sight tri-rail platform is the best features on the rifle. Other than that, not much difference. Majority of them are upgraded A1s, anyway.
