I would buy a G20SF and a G29SF 10mm's in a heart beat.

I have been searching for a new handgun to use for remote area carry as well as CCW carry when I am in the States.

I have a Colt Delta Elite and 3rd gen G20 that I use for remote area carry now and have just ordered a new G23 to use for CCW when I am State side.

I have been thinking about buying a Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail in 10mm but in my research on this gun have found a lot of people making comments about FTF/FTE, slides locking back and other general issues with the 1911 style guns.

I went all throught this with my Colt DE that I bought new in 1987/88 and don't want to go through this again.

I have now seen comparison pictures for the new G21SF and a G17 and feel that if Glock made their 10mm's in the SF models I would buy a G20SF and a G29SF in a heart beat.

Due to my experiences of total reliability of Glocks I have actually put my plans on purchasing a DW CBOB on hold and am waiting for the 10mm SF Glocks to come out...

Am I the only one that feels this way?

I have an OD Glock 29 coming soon (fingers crossed it is March)... I really hope they don't make a 29SF otherwise I will feel very bad :p

I handled the 21sf at the shot show. Trigger reach is improved but still feels like a 2x4. Talked to a Glock employee and he agrees a single stack commander length (4.25")45 is NEEDED!!

I picked up a G36 single stack 45 acp the other day and it did nothing for me.

My only complaint that is if you can call it that is that the grip on my G20 is just to long/deep I don't mind the width at all though.

I have been thinking of shipping it to Robar or somewhere like that to get thier grip reduction done to my gun.

So obviously I feel that the SF frame would be a great/better grip size.

I would say the Kimber would be more reliable than your Colt.

I own 2 Kimbers and plan on at least a few more. For the record, mine don't have allot of rounds out of em. Hope to change that with one of them.

Ahh my friend I have over the last 20 years put over $3000.00 in mod's into this old Colt DE 10mm...

I couldn't image another 1911 10mm handgun being more reliable than this old beast that I have probably put 30,000 rounds thru...

It is definately my baby but it does deserve to be retired soon... :)

My G20 is also an extremely reliable 10mm but I would definately welcome a shorter grip/frame option...

Cybershooters you have pegged it perfectly...

That would be a fantastic option on a awesome gun...

I have been giving long hard thought to doing the same thing with a G20, for the same reasons, for work up north this coming season. The current grip is just too big for me to shoot well. There are at least three or four companies out there doing the Weight Watchers slim/trim job on Glock grips, so a guy should be able to get something he likes out of the choices of shops available.

Colt Delta Elite

I have both a Glock 20 and 29 and love them both . I was thinking about a Colt Delta Elite until you mentioned problems. Tell me what your bad experiences have been with the Colt .

Nothing that you would not find in any 1911 handgun...

FTF reliability was probably the biggest problem that I encountered as well as the internal extractors on the 1911's are fairly flimsy and more prone to breaking than a Glock extractor.

I have a Delta Elite in 10mm I installed a full length guide rod with a Wolf 21lbs spring and it shoots very very well with hot loads close to the orginal Norma loads.
