I would like to get my frist Mauser but not sure about what to look for. Even it is a rifle of other manufacture with a Mauser action. What I am looking for is something that is accurate and easy on brass cases (brass case life).Any opinions would be apperciated.

I would say a K98 that has been converted to 7.62 NATO by the Israeli's postwar. You can reload your own ammo for it or shoot surplus ammo (when you can get it anyway). It is easy on the brass and is plenty accurate if the bore is in nice shape. I have owned several and they are fine shooters.

If you do reload your own ammo, another option is a Russian captured K98 in 8mm Mauser. Some of the sponsors at the top of the CGN page have them for sale.

Whem you say "Mauser" I assume you mean military. The 6.5 Swedish mausers tend to be very accurate and recoild less than a 8mm.

There are a number of fine commercal rifes made with Mauser 98 actions.

Tradex (listed above as a sponsor) usually has a lot of Mausers to choose from.
