I just installed my first IBI barrel... at least the first one I noticed was made by IBI.

Good looking barrel with the bore quite straight and quite tight...

I don't know much about this company. Enlighten me with facts...

New “ish” barrel maker in BC, not far from you iirc....

Getting quite a few good reviews, they have also sponsored a few guys in the shooting sports, and they seem to be doing quite well.

They actually heat treat their barrels unlike some of the other offerings coming out of Canada....

I don’t know anyone who is currently shooting one of their barrels, but I have several friends that are competitive in F-class, and IBI barrels are starting to get noticed there....

I believe one of the owners just won another national championship in service rifle.

Yes, Ryan Steacy won his FIFTH National Championship and he is a DCRA Hall of Famer in the NSCC Category. He is the face of IBI...I just ordered a 6.5 barrel from him while he was out here in Ontario shooting BOTH DCRA NSCC and the Meaford LRSC. Did I fail to mention he was shooting his IBI designed and manufactured barrel?

YouTube search IBI barrels and watch the videos....a Canadian Barrel at a reasonable price!

What’s not to like?

Cheers, Barney

We have been useing them
Very nice quality
Ibi is owned by mdt.
Ryan is the rep for the company not the owner if I understand the info I got.
Great hand lapping of the bore has made a big difference in the quality.

We visited the shop back in March and visited with Ryan for a while. Barrel donation for the BC provincial silohuette match didn't come through; possibly because I didn't call up and remind him. I've not heard from them since our visit so have just kept buying American barrels. What the hell; I'm retired anyway.

Can’t say enough good things about ibi and Ryan, even tho I don’t shoot one of their barrels yet they have been nothing but fantastic! Ibi sponsored the saprl prize table on very short notice this season and the lucky guy that won it chose a 6.5 cal blank that I’ll be chambering in 6.5 creedmoor. Looking very forward to testing it out. Also hearing great things about the 6mm barrels so I’ll be getting my hands on one soon I hope.

Heat treating and stress relieving are two different things. IBI stress relieves thier blanks twice during manufacturing.
If a barrel isnt properly stress relieved it can create issues in a number of different ways.

Pretty SURE every Barrel maker stress relieves there barrels - at least once or two times ! What is this " HEAT TREATING " m14medic.ca Speaks of ? RJ
