Id of parts

I picked up an AR and a parts(no lower) piece awhile back but being new to the game how does one identify all the different components? An upper marked BCM or barrel stamped Stag is pretty obvious but bolt carriers and triggers along with much more have little to no markings so what's a guy to do?

I did see the Sticky on triggers and maybe that'll help but many look very much like the next.

When you say identify, do you mean the name of the part and its function? Because it seems to me you already know the names, at least of the parts you have mentioned.

If you're trying to figure out the brand or who made it, typically that is not realistic, and in no way necessary.

It's the brand name I was after, not super important. More of a curiosity thing though obviously there can be superior quality in some brands over others and being that some of the items are clearly marked I was wondering about some of the unmarked items.

If you can't see names or logos on stuff, or Chinese characters, then it's probably just milspec parts that many use on factory rifles.
