ID on surplus 308

I was just wondering is there any specific way NATO or military 7.62 was identified? I have seen IVI, BD, ect, ect and various stamps on the cartridge bases. Is there a specific way they were identified or is it manufacturer specific.
IVI was canadian correct?

IVI is Canadian issue ammo. Pretty well all ammo can be Id,d by headstamp, do have another you want to know about.?

BD should be from Hall's Telegraph Co., Burghfield, UK

NATO standard ammo has a cross in a circle on the base of the case.

The maunfacturer's headstamp obviously depends on the manufacturer.
