OK I'm at a cross road, I have a new stripped Ruger 10/22 action sitting around for 2 years. Now I just can't deside what bull barrel project to build, Gopher Sniper on a Hogue OM stock, EVO kit, archangel_kit, Nordic kit, or what??

Now if the rumors are true about the Colt M4 .22 then I would just crap the AR style kits. But I think the rumors are wrong as there are other .22 cal ar styles that are all restricted. If I build a AR 10/22 kit, I seen an excellent job built on a Nordic kit looked awesome. The cost was around the price of a real AR15. I want to stay away from the thumbhole stocks just for the reason of off hand shooting. So if you have some ideas I might have missed, please put them out there as for the rest just vote.

As for a Barrel was thinking of a Tactical Solutions, or ER Shaw Helical fluted barrel.
and using Power Customs parts, or Rimfire Technologies parts
Bell & Carlson has a new stock call : AJ32-__Ruger 10/22 "Target/Varmint stock

let give other ideas of what is available or what these mods even are...alot of people are interested in 10\22 mods im sure it wont only help you but also help other in making a beter choice!!!

If you want a sniper, dont use a Hogue OM stock... barrel isnt free floating and makes the gun less accurate...

What are you looking to do with the finished product? Need to know the end in order to justify the means. :)

My in a nutshell opinions (which when combined with a buck fifty will get you a coffee) would be...for an open sighted plinker a Tommy Gun kit would be pretty cool, for tactical looking I'm partial to the Nordic or the FS556, and for sniping varmints I'd prefer the Hogue OM.

I had a Hogue OM before loved the feel but that would explain the fact is shot like s**t for a $1000. gun.

If the I was going to build that AR style I would go with the Nordic I think. see this like of a Nordic 10/22 build that got me going nice job overall

As for what I'm using it for Gophers, pop cans, shooting golf balls, teaching the kids. Kids love the coolness factor

Im thinking the Butler Creek stocks for the 10/22 would be the way to go in that respect...

I havent been able to use one yet, but everything I have read says that the barrel is a true free float on it. It has the more traditional look, but should allow for more accuracy..

I think NINE has one? and he likes it....

Do what ever makes you happy.....:D
That's what doing a custom build is all about.
Your the one that's going to be using it.....not us.
Good luck & have fun

The FS556 kit is kind of nice :)

For a little less $$, the Tapco T6 is also fun

My nordic is great. I have it with a Tactical Solutions barrel, and it shoots the lights out. 1" groups at 50 yds, at 100 yds its the users fault (but still within 4") from standing.

I have a red/green dot and a fACOG (fake ACOG) on it by NcStar. It holds zero when I take it off and put it back on again, which is impressive. I can shoot 1-2" groups at 100 yds with the ACOG at 9x zoom and a bipod.

I like my nordic so much I'm working with fabrice to get the rest of the parts I need to make an FS556. I just ordered a custom barrel (11.5") from bits of pieces.
