Just got a new 870 Express 18" barrel. I'd like to add some things to it. Maybe a sight mount and if possible a surefire forelight. I've seen people with the shell holder attached to, I like them and would like to add one of them to. Any ideas of what products to buy, like who makes those shell holders etc would be appreciated.

thanks

TacStar makes good 4 and 6 shot shell holders at good prices. Can be found at LeBaron or possibly your local gun store.

Daves a sponsor up above has good lights and such for your forend. Mention CGN for a 15% discount.

the 3 things you need:
HPIM1263.jpg

- ghost-ring night sight,
- side-saddle,
- single point sling loop.

Mine are respectively Trijicon sight, Mesa Tactical saddle and Daniel defense loop. The sling I use is a GearSector and is as good as it gets. The host is a 30yo wingmaster 18" sporting Hogue short LOP furniture.

Sorry but Blue Force Gear slings are a step above :D

For single point sling plates S&J Hardware ones are also avalible (Canadian made and very high quality)

If you really want to pimp it out OSTS Mfg. should have the 870/AR 15 stock adaptors ready within two months.

as farmboy said good kit can be had right hear on CGN.
If you looking to bet your life on it kit the na sling from farmboy and a sling plate from me is the way to go.
Tell you what if you can find a better made sling plate for the 870 anywhere ill buy it for you for free, thats how well made are S&J sling plates are made.
The rem 870 has to be one of the easyist guns to pimp out as well!

...did someone say that they're looking for 18" 870 Express ideas?:

The accessories are out there, it's just a matter of deciding what you want (which may not necessarily be limited to what you actually need) and how much money you're willing to spend.

In many cases, an 'accessory' can be sourced from more than one producer over a wide range of prices ...side saddles are a good example. Although TacStar and Mesa Tactical market products that are similar in appearance and function, the difference in quality of construction is significant (as is the difference in price).

Also - if you're not in a rush - many of the best accessories that aren't yet available from Canadian retailers can be sourced directly from their U.S. manufacturers. Knoxx, XS, Hogue and Mesa Tactical are but three U.S. producers of some fine shotgun accessories, with whom you'll have no problem placing and importing an order into Canada.

Depending on how much you want to invest into this, you might also want to consider having the gun refinished. The factory 870 Express finish is 'utilitarian' (to put it politely) and having it redone can make a big difference in the gun's aesthetics. The 870 Express in the above picture had its original factory finish removed by media blasting, then the entire gun - including any metal accessories - was refinished in baked-on satin black Teflon.

The 18" 870 Express is a terrific platform on which to build an accessorized 'project gun'.

GearSector's does it for me... personal preferences I guess.

I agree with you for the adapter a 100% tho, go for S&J. I got the DD cause S&J wasn't available at the time.

Oh, And I got 2 more add on for ghg55: HI-vis follower and oversize safety
