Identification Help Please

Hi Everyone. Im hoping someone can help identify this old girl ? Its well out of my knowledge range and I've tried looking on the internet but not much luck. I hope someone can help with the pics I've posted ? I know its old and original not a repro and thats about it. The barrel diameter looks about 12ga size maybe a tad bigger.

Awesome Thank you ! Any idea on value ? A friend offered it to me and I like the idea it can display it without having to worry about anything so may pick it up if its not overly expensive

Can't really help with the value, there would be a lot of variables, but look online I'm sure there are some comparables for sale out there.

Not within the last almost 50 years as the guy that has it bought it the way the pics are so if it has been changed it was before the guy bought it 50 years ago

That is not the correct hammer. The correct hammer is much beefier. Do an internet search for verification.

Well, in my opinion this has been converted from flint to percussion with some of the original parts still in place.

This is the M1850 Prussian Cavalry pistol. It was not converted from flintlock, and although dated 1850, it was already obsolete by the time it was adopted by the Prussian army. I have one on my website https://www.oldgunscanada.com/prussianm1850sn1348 priced at $1550. It's been cleaned and restored, unfortunately but still a fine specimen. Yours has regimental markings on it suggesting it was issued to the "Landwehr", probably long after it was removed from cavalry service. It has also been modified. The barrel has been shortened, and (as already stated) the hammer has been replaced. The front sight was added probably at the time of the barrel shortening. This may have been a job done at the arsenal before it was re-issued to the Landwehr. In this condition, if it is functional, you may get $500 to $800 for it. I hope this helps.

Yours is different.

The hammer replacement gives it away. But you never know, I would like to see one like that, a M1823 as percussion. I'd still say it's worth around $1K.
