I got a call from a gentleman with information about a .22 caliber rifle that he thinks is a trainer.

It is made in Germany and has a bolt that opens straight up and over the barrel. It has top wood and a barrel band to secure the wood. It has a butt plate on the stock. The guy told me it was marked with "Fluss-Stahl" *Kruppffen*
The bolt has a wing safety that swings from left to right.

I have a couple of German .22 cal rifles that are similar but no top wood, or that type of safety and no butt plate.

I don't have any pictures of the gun.

If anyone has any idea I could use your help.

Thanks

Al, probably need more information, but sounds like a DeutscheSportmodell or DSM 34, had top wood and a wing type safety. Used by the H. Youth and other german sporting agencies prior to WW2. Lots of different makers of it for the Germans, from Anschutz to Mauser, etc... I'm looking for parts for one if it isn't serviceable or is in poor shape.
