Hello gentlemen, I'd like to find some information on this Manufrance 12ga.

It appears to be some sort of 870 clone, but I am certainly not well versed in shotguns.

I was told that this is a French military shotgun, but have only found commercial marks... although I am not well versed in French military markings either.

The rear sights flip from wide to narrow... shot vs slug? The barrel is smooth with no rifling and there is no choke.

The barrel and receiver appear to have different serial numbers.

The trigger group appears to be an alloy of some sort, as it's pretty lightweight.

I'd just really be interested in any type of information as internet searches haven't turned up anything for me.

Is this military or civilian?

Year of manufacture?

Is this an 870 clone?

Is the mag extension an aftermarket addition?

Any idea of what it's worth...?

Thank you, fellas, I look forward to hearing from you.

If the serial # don't match, it's most likely didn't leave the factory that way... There's not much information on the web about them, I think they were called the "Rapid"

If you read French, the "Gazette des armes, sept. 1979" had an article about the riot gun.

As far as value... probably not all that much (unless you stumble upon a collector who wants one). It's not that it's a bad shotgun, it's just an oddity and parts/accessories might be an issue.

Manufrance pump guns were marketed in North America by different companies.
Variety of models. Yours looks to be set up as a slug gun.
Similar to an 870, but not really a clone.
They also marketed an autoloader.
