I assume the stainless slide can be replaced with a regular one without problems ?

If so, is it possible to acquire an extra slide? From where?

Thru your dealer, who would get it from Fnsports/ RNichols. You may be better off getting a new pistol or finding a used one.

If you really dislike the stainless, you can get it armacoated/gunkoted or something... if you change the slide, the serial numbers won't match, and to me, that would de-value the gun somewhat.

That being said, if you post a Want to Trade add in the EE, I'm sure a few people would be willing to trade a black slide for a stainless!

Oh, I love the slide... just curious about whether or not it's possible and economically viable to make a switch once in a while, ala conversion kit style...

It is possible, I had a blued pistol with fixed sights. I frequently switched them and they ran flawlessly.

I tried a USP Tactical slide on my regular .45 and that worked just fine. Not a fan of the 2-tone look?

Probably the former, since it's less complicated.

It's probably easier to buy a new pistol than just the slide. A lot of companies these days will not just ship you the slide for a newer made pistol like the USP or a Beretta, etc...
