The Pistol I / IDPA New Shooter Orientation course is meant to expose the student to the proper use of pistol in conjunction with holster equipment in a controlled environment. The primary focus of the course is to be able to draw and holster safely. The student will learn foundational shooting techniques and will be required to demonstrate them on the range. The student reinforces what was learned during the class instruction and foundational range drills and will put both to use in a basic IDPA style stage earning a Holster Certificate from a recognized shooting discipline. This course is suited for the recreational shooter wanting a holster certificate or wanting to compete in IDPA, or the L.E. professional who wishes to compete in IDPA.
