Hi all, I am looking to find out if there are other ranges that hold IDPA training/shoots other than Chiliwack in the Greater Vancouver area as it is a bit far for me. Hope someone could help me find one!

It's closer than you think!! I now live in the 'wack, and I can be downtown for a Whitecaps game in 70 minutes!!

I feel ya though for the midweek evening practise

I actually live in Pemberton during the week, and I go back to Vancouver quite often. It's more of wanting to go to a practice night but midweek driving from Pemberton to Chiliwack just isn't feasible...

Are the Silvercore courses a good start? I guess I have to take both their Level 1 and Level 2 courses.

An experienced IDPA participant is offering a newbie orientation session at Chilliwack if you want to get some pointers and try it on for size. They are one day sessions offered on weekends. I think the May 7th session is already full, but you can PM me for details if you want.

Thanks, PMed!

Attended the intro to IDPA course in Chilliwack today, excellent course, very informative, Robert and his assistants were very professional, and made everyone very comfortable with the entire experience. If you have been thinking of trying IDPA, but are intimidated by the thought of not having a clue ( like I was, lol) I would highly recommend taking this course, I honestly feel capable of shooting an event and understanding what is going on around me now.
Great course, great teachers, excellent class, and a full day of training for $40 ( $30 if you are a member of CFGC) is a steal of a deal, and as a bonus, there was a very nice mix of handguns to admire and bs about :)
