IDPA Match Cornwall ON

Well, those intrepid individuals who braved the rain and went out to the match were treated to some very creative stages. The centrepiece was "Old MacDonald Had a Farm in Rhodesia".....10 targets, of which 7 were inside a 'farmhouse' completely hidden from view, with nobody having a chance to see the stage beforehand. What a rush shooting a stage as you see it, coming around corners. I gave up IPSC a couple of years ago because I didn't like the way it was heading, and have only been shooting CAS. IDPA is making me pick up the semi's again !!!! More people need to get out an give IDPA/CDP a try. Kudos to Stephen and the gang at Cornwall for a great match.

I must admit, I was initially skeptical about the whole IDPA/CDPA shooting discipline but this was the 4th time I've been out and once again it was a blast.

Stephen and the guys at Cornwall set up a great match that was challenging, made you think and was alot of fun. I also met future of the sport and if he keeps it up, he'll be a force to be reckoned with! He is a very mature, capable and skilled shooter that I enjoyed talking to and I think he's only 16!

Much like when I got into IPSC, the IDPA gang has turned out to be great and a fun bunch that I enjoy shooting with. I truly enjoy both disciplines ALOT!!!:dancingbanana:

Thanks guys for giving me one more fun thing to do! :)

Hey guys, I am glad you all had a great time, sorry I could not have been there. Yes the sports is growing fast and it is a lot of fun.

Congrats all.

Despite the liquid sunshine the Cornwall match was a hoot. Sticker's sick and twisted mind made for a fun and challenging course of fire. This was the fifth CDP/IDPA event in this part of the country this season and each has built and improved on the ones preceding it. We're looking to make the October 21 match in Smiths Falls the best yet.

Thanks for a great day Stephen.

I had a great time, My hat's off to Sticker. He realy did a great job of creating the CoFs and running the day.

I learned a WHOLE lot (like when clearing a building, make sure you've been in ALL the rooms!)
Can't wait for the smithsfalls match!,

see ya all there!!!

I would like to thank everybody that braved the rain and came to my match.

I guess the rain was not so bad after all. You should see what the wind on Sunday did to the "Farmhouse in Rhodesia" Looks like New Orleans:D

I found out where Leelad gets his natural shooting ability. His mom never fire a pistol before. At the end of the match, I gave his mom a crash course on how to shoot my BHP mk3s. At about 15y she got 10 rounds in the center of the 8inch circle of the IDPA target. A group a bit bigger then the dia of a coke can. Then she got all the plated down without a miss. So don't mess with Mama Leelad;)

To all those people that emailed me personaly this past week, I have not been around my personal computer since last Monday night, and not around my work computer since Wednsday. So I was not able to reply to anyone till now. Sorry about that. To many irons in the fire.

jesus, I was at the range today trying to draw from concealed (just a leather jacket), and by the #### that was slow! I mean it is not as easy as it looked. Just sweeping that jacket back took a while. I was hovering at around 1.70secs to a 7 yard target, and the best I could get was a 1.3-1.4.

time to do some more dryfire. My jacket kept getting clumped wether I used my fingers to cup the jacket out of the way, or wether I used my thumb to hook it out of the way.
Any suggestions for a better vest/ jacket. Are the SigPRo or 5.11 vests any good for that style of drawing / CDPA/IDpA?

I have pics!

Well better late than never...
Here they are!
