If I were a set of Ruger factory rings....

Most shops I've been in have Ruger rings. Leupold also makes them, although I'm not sure for a Deerfield specifically.

Or try Western Gun Parts in Edmonton.

Seems to me I've seen some sort of adapter that goes on the Ruger dovetails and allows the use of Weaver style rings. I'm not sure where I saw it, maybe WS or similar.

Sounds ike a good idea.

We carry lots of rings and bases in stock and most of the Ruger factory rings...call me direct. For what it's worth to ,Ruger has now started packaging their rings in individual boxes which means it will be easier to build a set of rings in different heights, finishes and diameters. As you may know the 77 Mk II have staggered height rings while the #1's mini 14's etc have rings theat are the same height. This means that if you need to go up or down one height of ring on a 77 Mk II (and now also the Hawkeys) you only have to change one ring (if the retailer is stocking them that way). In the past there was a reluctance on many retailers to break open a sealed package and have odd ball rings kicking around. With the new individual packaging system we are now repacking all our rings in individual packs and selling them one at a time. It will take a while to get up to steam on the new numbering system but anything has to be better than that previous nightmare Ruger had in place for numbering. Phil.

How do you achieve a different ring height by only changing one ring?

Wouldn't the rings need to be matched?

Yeah, it sounds funny, but the two factory rings that come with the gun are different heights to make up for the different heights at the receiver. Funny, it says nothing of this in the manual!!!! Presumably you keep the longer or shorter of the two and just add one more with the appropriate offset and height.
