If we ever get the AR back..

Even if the Conservative won this election or the next... they would never bring back the AR... most people are idiots and think its the most dangerous gun without realizing that all guns that are semi automatic are equally dangerous.
As much as the conservatives are pro-gun, they will not go hard advocating for guns if it has the potential to lose voters... keep in mind now they are going to try and bring new voters in for the coming election... thats not going to work if they show they have a loose stance on firearms....

The cold hard facts are this current administration is going to come after lever actions because they are going to call them rapid fire assault weapons. Pump actions will be next. Wouldn't be surprised if they classify bolt actions as long range assassin weapons.

We live in a Socialist country. The working class men and woman pay the taxes while the poor and rich get a free ride.

Which is to say that no guns are dangerous (unless defective).

I'll call out misinformation when I see it.
STOP making FALSE STATEMENTS.
A Poilievre led Majority CPC Government would Simplify Classification and the AR would be returned to it's NON RESTTRICTED class as it was in the 1980's.
The slightest EDUCATION on the direction of Canada's gun lobbies and the CPC would inform you of this extremely high probability.

You don't know that. Previous conservative governments did not fulfill their promises related to firearms.

In fact, conservative governments have previously implemented firearms legislation, including the magazine capacity restrictions, storage regulations, certain firearm model prohibitions, etc.

Would I love for the AR to be reclassified? Absolutely. Do I think it will happen anytime soon (if at all)? No.

True, I don't KNOW that. Nobody can predict the future. Indicators suggest a very high probability though. Thank you for saying that you think it won't happen, as opposed to stating that it won't.
The restrictions you reference were implemented by the former federal Progressive Conservative party. Coincidentally, they died in political relevance as a party a few years later, and today, don't even exist. The Modern Conservative Party of Canada is a totally different party with VERY different policy. Everything we've seen since Poilievre took the leadership indicated that the CPC will Simplify Classification. That means Classification by function and removing bans-by-name designations.

You know... some of y'all just can't see the over the topness of a frikkin' 8" 300 win mag..

Can you imagine...! Lol

I do think that if PP won an election and was able to form government, ideally a majority, that he would probably remain true to his word

However, the major hurdle now is actually winning an election. It is not looking good.

The other issue is, Canada is a wreck. Will firearms be a priority for the CP even if they do win? Canada will be even worse across the board in 4 years. Society also changes, will there be an appetite to undo the bans?

Its 2025 its not the 1980's. Every other person is a Liberal cuck. It would be political suicide for the Conservatives to bring back the AR.
They need all the NDP voters that turned liberal this election... do you think a single one of those voters wants AR'S let alone guns in general? Defiently not.

The fact is within the next 2 years or untill the conservatives get into power the Liberals are going to be working overtime to take all of the guns and make it permanent.

Your high if you think otherwise.
