If you could only have 1 handgun which would you choose and why?

If you could only have one "do it all for your needs" handgun, which would you choose and why?

For me it'd be a 4" - 6" stainless SW .357 magnum revolver. Good for the bush, good for serious social encounters, common ammo, reliable and almost maintenance free.

I'd take a 4-6" stainless GP-100. Tough, simple and common ammo.

Tough call. I'd have to either say a Smith & Wesson 686 (.357/.38 spl) or a Glock 21 (.45 ACP). I'd say both are durable, reliable and require little maintenance.

Deciding which would depend on the situation. If we're talking about a hypathetical fall of western civilization, I'd take the 686. If we're talking real life, I'd go with the Glock.

This is such an unfair question. I'd never have just one gun!

With 40 rounds of 10mm (13 in 3 mags and 1 in the pipe) there isn't much I would have to worry about...

For an automatic, I would go for a standard HK USP 9mm. For a revolver, I would go for a Ruger GP-100.
