ruger american, on the too buy list
ruger 10/22, already own
uh, not sure about a pump
winchester 9422m, already own
Savage 24 .22/410, already own

Old school guy, coming through...

1. Lee Enfield no4 mk1 (bolt)
2. Browning A5 Belgium (semi 12gauge)
3. Winchester model 1890 (pump in .22)
4. Henry original (lever action in .44)
5. Holland and Holland sporting over under (break in 12gauge)

Bolt: CZ 452 Lux
Semi: Either the Marlin 795 or the Papoose (have both, both are decently accurate - the 795 more-so - but the Papoose is dang convenient to throw in the trunk. So.... Tossup )
Pump: Remington Fieldmaster
Lever: Henry Golden Boy - any serious varminting would be with the CZ, so the lever is for fun and for show.
Other: Little Badger. If I have a LB, I'll take the Marlin 795 over the Papoose in the Semi category.

NB: Don't actually own a Fieldmaster or a Henry (yet), but do own the rest - and a bunch of other stuff. It's amazing how much of a workout the CZ, 795, and Papoose all get. I hardly use my LB since I got the Papoose, but can't seem to let go of it anyway. Not like it takes much room to store, and it's fun to use from time to time.

Oh... Rim fired. Lol. It's 5 am in the morning, too early to think! Ok new list.

Marlin 2000 (bolt)
Savage A17 (semi)
Winchester 1890 (pump)
Henry Golden boy (lever)
Savage model 24 over under (break)... That counts right

All .22s for the sake of this exercise...but there are others on the wish list... :)

Bolt~Anschutz 1710
Semi~Thompson Center R-55
Pump~Winchester 62A
Lever~Marlin 39 (the short one)
Other~nothing on the list...

Total number of these I own, or have owned? ZERO! :p I'm afraid if I spring for one (or more) of these spendy rifles...I'll be fixated on the cost of them and find them hard to enjoy. Character flaw~you betcha'! Still toying with the idea of a 452 Varmint, I'd like to pick up a new/low-mileage one of those.

I waited for more than 30 years for this one; IMHO the best factory rimfire bolt gun of all time is the Unique "T" Dioptra . . .

That said, if I was going to go out and purchase a .22 bolt gun right now today, it would be a CZ 452, the traditionalist's love for the Winchester M-52 notwithstanding. The best pump action .22 is probably a Remington 572, the traditionalists love for the Winchester M-62 notwithstanding. The best lever action is undeniably the Marlin 39. My voted for the best semi-auto rimfire at one time was the Ruger 10/22, but neither their trigger nor their accuracy out of the box has ever been particularly good, while the Remington 66 may have been the best .22 ever for a trapper, due to it's ability to shed water and be reliable in wet conditions. But my vote for the top semi-auto on the basis of quality vs price would go to the CZ 512. My vote for a falling block rimfire would be a custom Ruger #1, nothing else looks as good, and if the receiver is color case hardened, its better yet, at least to my myopic eyeballs.

I will bite some what

Bolt- MARK II BTVSS
Semi- Rem 597 HB

I have the 597 HB and with vq hammer and extractor man is it a accurate sweet rifle.
