If you could only keep one hunting rifle

That makes three, and my Swede comes with a handy bayonet for Bear defence. :D

If military style rifles are included I would hang onto my M14. Good hunting rifle, good fun rifle, good defense rifle.

If it's strictly hunting rifles I'd keep my scout rifle built from a K KALE Turk Mauser with a 20 inch barrel and a pistol scope. Should do all I need.

Not all I WANT but all I need :(

What a depressing topic!

Did you wake from a nightmare and come up with this?

It's IMPOSSIBLE to live with just one rifle!

If I were forced to try in some nightmare world, I guess it would be with my BLR in .358 Winchester.

Read a good article on that topic once...

...the article concluded that the ultimate ''one keeper'' was the SAVAGE 24....in the usual mix of rifle / shotgun combo...arfter reading the article I went and found such a fix to my collection... with a 30/30 and 20ga combination... I would keep that one if I had no other choice. MAX FLEX.

Finally the voice of reason.

I have two Sav.24s. One is in .222/20ga and the other in 30/30 over 20 ga.
With Hornadys hot pointed 30/30 factory loads or handloads the 30/30 is capable of taking most N.A. game with in its limits. And the 20ga is capable of taking Geese, ducks and uplang birds within its limits.

One rifle with two barrels would be my choice.

If Sav. ever brought out a .24 in a .308 over 20 ga. it would sell a pile of them. (or a 6.5X55 over 20 ga. :) )

Only One Fifle

If I had to make a choice of a military firearm, it would be my M1 Garand in 308 or Mauser 1908 in 7 X 57.

For tactical firearm it would be my Steyr SSG 69 P II with a Kahles 6 X 42 Tactical scope.

For a classic firearm, I would pick my Brno 21H in 7 X 57 with a Pecar scope.

For a current firearm I would pick my Sako Mannlicher in 270, with an Elite 3-9 X 40, 4200 scope.
