I've seen quite a bit of talk on some other forums about how expensive Trap shooting has become which is actually true for Skeet and SC aswell. For you Trap shooters, if it ever came down to only being able to afford one event what would it be and why? 16yrd, Handicap or Doubles? For myself and my son it would be Handicap. We find it more relaxing to shoot. With Handicap you can miss a target or two and still be in the game. With the #2 hole targets (a whole different thread) thrown at registered shoots now days if you miss a target at 16yrds your pretty done for at any big shoot all the way down to "B" class. Doubles I find just a little too fast paced. What would you choose?

I agree with you Tim. I don't like marathon shoots. Handicap events do even out the crowd. However with out singles how would you award yardage in Handicap? As for doubles they DO ROCK but the round is over too fast. Sporting is my game. Takes all afternoon to shoot 100 most days.:)

Bat,
Singles has no bearing at all on Handicap.Yardage is based on Handicap performance and only Handicap performance.A AA shooter can still carry a 20 yard handicap.Unlikely, but possible.

Handicap for sure. It evens out the playing field and it is also where the money is if you play the calcutta option of course. Further I find it the most challenging.

On a side note Olympic trap sounds like a pile of fun and from what I know about it, quite challenging. One bird moving really fast and two shots at it. Sounds great.

Doubles for sure..........

I'm more of a SC or skeet shooter at heart though..

Limiting ones self to a single discipline at a registered trap shoot is just silly talk. East KD for a week and shoot'em all.
