If you had to do it all over again......

now take into consideration that this was back in the early 90's!

my first purchase was a Ruger P89 9mm and the next day a S&W 422 22cal.
so that gave me a nice semi auto 9mm and a nice 22 semi auto as well.

wouldnt change a thing!
it wasnt until 20 years later that i started to pick up more and more and more and MORE guns to add to my collection.
but for 20 years i was happy happy happy with my 9 and my 22.

i would recommend that route for anyone getting into pistols.
gives you a nice 22 (any one out there really) for cheap shooting and training and also gives you a 9mm with a little more power too it and is still cheap to run.

i would hesitate to suggest anyone enter the wonderful world of pistols with a 1911.
while i love them and have.... 6 or 7 of them currently you really need to know what your doing and be comfortable troubleshooting and ripping them apart.

having a new poly gun like a M&P or a Glock would be what i suggest just for ease of use and cleaning.
then pick up a 22 of your choice.
