if you like wood furniture ...

thanks lots. grips are all from rifles refined. stocks are all retrofitted from much older firearms (hence the differences in finish; i wanted to keep the patina on the old stocks so didn't refinish to match the grips).

can anyone guess what firearms the four stocks originally came from?

I'm still trying to figure out what the wooden stocks are currently on!

I would love to do something like that to some rifles.

hk sl8 with spuhr/hera lower
rwa 180 upper with sbi lynx 1913 lower
norinco m305 in blackfeather chassis
ruger pc9 in crom chassis

thanks. for anyone interested it is not hard to do (depending on what rifle you are working with). use an old stock off a cold war-era (or earlier) gun and just have to figure out mounting. hardest part is finding the old stock.

no guessers?

the SL8 has an FAL stock on an AR-ACR adaptor. stock probably did lots of time walking around cyprus.

the 180 has a CETME stock on a 1913 adaptor. stock probably used to beat more than a few dissidents while backing a spanish dictator in the 1970's.

the M305 has a Bren Gun stock on an AR adaptor. stock was "new old stock", so may have sat in a box in libya during wwii.

the PC9 has a Mossberg stock on an SGA adaptor. given where i live, this stock was probably the last thing seen by a multitude of grouse.

the FAL and Bren Gun stock were from Marstar, but they don't show any more complete stocks on their website just parts (i.e, you can get an FAL stock but no butt plate). the CETME stock was from North Ridge Inc in the US; inexpensive and shipped up no problem (and came with a grip and wood handguard as well). Mossberg 500 stocks are easy to find however stocks without checkering are rarer.

Looks like a Mossberg stock for sure, which model of PCC9 was that to begin with, it looks like an aftermarket receiver to me?

Is it possible for you to provide a bit more detail about what you did and how an SGA adapter was made to work with the Ruger? Nice work in general the top rifle is my favourite. I wonder how hard it would be to find some arborite to match the wood colour and make some panels for the fore end parts.... :)

it's a chassis from a vendor called CROM. gives you a mag catch in the proper location for racing or maintaining your manual of arms between firearms. also a flared magwell. it is designed to take a magpul mossberg 500 SGA stock, so if it can take a magpul stock then the original mossberg bolts right up as well (or anything that will bolt to a mossberg; pistol grips, folders, etc.). CROM also sells a pistol grip/1913 adaptor for it. ps, when i bought it, CROM had subbed-out manufacturing to a cnc place in canada, so no customs/border issues when buying.

i'd started with the chassis version of the pc9, but the CROM chassis should work with any version. nice thing about the chassis version is that i get to keep the optic in the scout position which is good for me. i've also got a blackfeather sga adaptor for the m305 so i can put the mossberg stock on it if i want (back when it was still a viable truck gun).

I remember seeing the CROM a while back but I've lost track of the different aftermarket choices out there!

Some colour matched arborite or real wood panels up front and you will be riding in style..... :)

i thought long and hard about doing wood handguards also. the CETME wood furniture set i bought came with a handguard that would fit however the vintage wood stuff is designed to attach to the barrel, so you lose the benefits of a free-floated barrel (accuracy) and you start putting form over function (no mlok slots, etc). the wood stocks i've put on are as light or lighter than the modern plastic or metal stuff so i don't feel i've sacrificed any functionality by using them. i also thought about wood mlok panels or perhaps a carbon tube handguard with a wood veneer, but these NR guns don't need any more weight out front.

i think it would be possible. tommybuilt sell an AR adaptor for the g36 which you could mate your stock to. the CETME stock is pretty similar to the G3 and i posted details earlier on where to find those.
