I'm sorry I have to post this but it should be read by all

In Toronto, the head of the Coalition for Gun control said courts should make public safety - and not the hobbies of gun owners - their priority.

"In general, we have to be very attentive to the fact that hunting rifles and shotguns in the wrong hands are as lethal or more lethal than the handguns that seem to be attracting all of the attention lately," said Wendy Cukier.

Cukier pointed out that at least half of the police officers killed in the line of duty in Canada are killed by rifles and shotguns - in some cases in the possession of their legal owners.

The writing is on the wall, if the liberals get in and pass their handgun ban, and it fails, they will have to do something, they will be comming after hunting rifles. They must be stoped now.

Please don't vote liberal, don't let your friends vote liberal, If you can't bring yourself to vote for anyone but the liberals, you could always stay home in protest.

thank you for your time and consideration.

well if they leave it up to prov to ban or not i know where im moving too :D but befor that happen we must stand up and fight this Govt by not voting Lib:mad:

Right on the money, but don't stay home and protest either. Just go and vote for the conservatives. (or the NDP or BQ if the conservatives have no hope in your riding.) Fill your car with your hunting buddys/grandma/dog/cat/gerbil and any other registered voters you can talk into not voting liberal while your at it.

There are 4-5 million firearms owners in canada. Last election there were only 13-14 million ballots cast. You can easily do the math here; if we get out and vote as a block, we can teach the liberals a lesson that will not be forgotten by future parties that might want to ban guns. (like the NDP and the BQ!)

Make no mistake about it, if the liberals get away with banning handguns, next time they are desparate for urban votes it will be all semi-autos, and all centerfire hunting arms (sorry, I meant "high powered sniper rifles") after that.

We need to nip this in the bud. I like don't like Stephen Harper at all, but a Conservative minority is still more acceptable to me than a Liberal one with the NDP and BQ to back them on things like taking your guns.

off to watch the debate... ;)

Ban on hand guns

Watched some of the English political debate last night. When the question of gun contol came up Jack Layton comments indicated they were also in favour of gun control (no secret there). So a vote for the NDP is also a vote for a ban on hand guns. Who do you suppose Martin will form a coalition with if he gets another minority govt? - and all indications say that will happen AGAIN!!!. I'm not pushing Conservative politics here just saying that a vote for any other party is and indirect vote for gun control.

disagree.

There's a discussion on this here:

It is most important that the liberals not form government. If the conservatives get more seats than the liberals, the other parties will have a very hard time getting bills through the house. Practically impossible. Seats that the conservatives have no chance of winning are better as NDP than liberal.

Don't Vote Liberal They Want Your Rifle, too.

Friends don't let friends vote Liberal...

Yeah, you gotta bet if they get the handguns they'll be coming after our long guns next...

jkf,

Jack Layton also made mention that the gun that Marc Lepine used (mini 14) was still available to purchase by law-abiding gun owners. The NDP is anti-gun!

Vote Conservative!

I know!!

The point is that right now it is most important to ensure that the liberals do not form a government. If you live in a riding which is a close race between the NDP (or Bloc) and Liberals, with the conservatives more or less out of the running, the smart thing to do would be to vote for the non-liberal party, whether or not you agree with their policies.

If the conservatives get a minority, the NDP will be unable to directly advance their policys, and will have a much harder time doing it indirectly.

Voting conservative in a riding where they will only get 10% of the votes, is, realistically, like throwing your ballot in the trash. you might as well stay home.

The various parties get money when you vote for them, voting for anything other than CP is a waste, even if they can't win the riding. The NDP is a joke, anyone that thinks they are any better than the libs is on the pipe......
They will prop up the libs in return for their support, whether they form a minority or opposition.
Get out an vote CP, and in the mean time work hard to get people you know out to the polls to do the same.
