My first post in this forum. Been shooting trap and skeet for a couple weeks now and loving it. Thinking of moving to an over under. Pretty damn overwhelming the selection out there. Looking at buying a Condor supreme. To me it looks like a nice gun for the money. Anybody have an opinion on them? As long as it will be a reliable gun its all i need for now till i learn a little more about the higher end stuff. Is there any reason to not buy one? I'd love to buy a Browning or a Ceasar. i just cant (and stay married)

I shoot few quite afe guys that have bought Condors of one version or another over the last couple years ( I've owned older ones and they were all ok). I've seen some that came from the factory and were awsome for the money. I've also seen others that when brand new left alot to be desired in fit and finish. With those kinds of differences in new guns it means to me that the quailty control isnt the greatest. Knowing that it scares me to think what they are like for quialty on the inside that you cant see when you pick the gun up. If you look around you probalby find a used gun that would work for you of better quality and for much more money. Rember than if your going to be getting the bun and doing alot of clay target shooting that in a few months of shooting with it you'll most likely put more rounds through it than a regular field/hunting gun would see in years of use.

I'm definately going to keep my eye out for something used. The only reason i was looking at something cheap like a condor is i can just go out and get one rather painlessly. The other reason is i'm afraid to drop the cash only to wish i had gotten something differernt in a few months.

Ellwood Epps in Orilla has a Browning Broadway Trap for I think $1200. It's an older gun but a great on and from the people I know that have seen this one I guess it's in decent shape. ShootersChoice in Waterloo often has some decent used trap guns for a reasonable price. Right now they have a Browing BPS (pump) Trap in good shape for $450. I'd get that over the Condor anyday unless you were wanting a doubles gun.

Don't buy a Condor. In fact, don't buy anything in a rush. The one thing about we clay shooters is that we are a fickle bunch and tend to change guns frequently. Therefore there is usually a good supply of used guns in circulation. Take your time and try a variety of guns before buying.

What are you shooting now?

And welcome to the forum.

There's a guy down here at our club near Windsor with a 3 barrel Franchi combo with case for $950. If you interested I can get you a pic and details
