Igman ammo - source?

Is Igman ammo still available anywhere in Canada? I really liked their 7.62x54r ammo as the brass was quite good for reloading.

Anyone know if I can still get it?

Igman who is part of the UNIS group now is in a bad way financially even after a recent amalgamation and is now bleeding a lot of cash. Don't expect to see much new Igman ammo for sale anytime soon unless it is surplus military order stuff.

I used to get Igman at Milarm in Edmonton. Don't know if they still have any or not. Got a really good deal on both .270 Win and 7mm Rem Mag about a year ago. You could always give them a call and see

We got them to quote recently and they now only make a few calibres, and the prices are crazy. We passed. Too bad, they made good stuff.

They were conspicuously absent during the shortages of the past few years.

We cleared all our Igman ammo out and have nothing left!

Bosnia in general is in a very bad economic slump with high unemployment and lots of government mismanagement and corruption. Igman has dropped a lot of their making of sporting ammo as it is currently low volume and small profit margin side work. They are trying for higher profit large government orders of military grade ammo to help them get over their slump in profits.

Well many militaries still ahoot 54R. Maybe someone should see if that is attainable now? Or maybe they would sell brass?

About the only new 7.62x54Rmm used nowadays by any decent sized military is in the medium sized machine gun use and at a minimum 95% + of that is cheap non-reloadable steel cased ammo.

I expect there are still better ammo grades made for use in DMRs like the Dragunov. One can certainly hope...

Yes, LVE makes a higher "sniper" grade for the SVD.

But I doubt it uses reloadable brass cases. Most if not all new Russian made 7.62x54 ammo uses steel berdan primed cases, especially the military grade/issue ammo.

"Things Military" in Calgary used to sell Igman ammo too, not sure if they would still have any in stock. I just sold all my Igman 7.62x54R once fired brass a few months ago on the EE.

Not trying to hijack the thread or offer to sell as I was simply searching for sources of ammo for my new 300 win mag...but it is replacing a 7mm rem mag that I never really shot, but did buy a lot of Igman 7mm rem mag ammo for...not sure how much...hang on will go check....ok....13 boxes of 20 175g Igman.

Again, not an offer to sell, but letting you know it may be available soon....shoot me an message...especially if you have some reloadable 300 win mag!

Tradex had a few cartridges listed....not a lot, 7mmRM for $20 now sold out, 222REM for $17 is in stock.
