What is the size of the standard receiver grooves for scope rings on a .22?

I'm looking to upgrade my scope and i know i'll need different rings if i go to something larger than a 20mm tube, but i don't know what size i'm looking at for the rings. thanks guys. dumb question i know. i think it's 11mm or something to that effect? does that sound right?

thanks.. i'm trying to buy really cheapo ones off ebay though and they don't classify them that way they classify them by their base width. at least the ones i'm looking at.

it's an older savage mkII it's deadly accurate at 50 yards one ragged hole and at 100 yards it hits paper, but i think it could do a very nice group if i could just see what i'm aiming at. the 4x bushnell banner i have on it kinda sucx past 50 yards. the reticle is bigger than the target. so i want to get a very inexpensive higher powered scope, i don't know what teh tube size will be on it yet but i want to know what size of rings i need on teh base so that i know if it's even possible to mount the scope, or if i have to stick with the 20mm tube i have now so i can keep my rings.
