Well, I have been unhappy with the performance of my 10/22 Magnum. It loves the Winchester Super -X 40 grain JHP's, shoots them under 1" @100 yards but I can't seem to find them anywhere around here. SO....

I am going to give the Remington JHP's and PSP's a chance. They seem to be easily found around here. If they are a no go, I think it might be up for sale.

Always wanted a .22 Hornet :onCrack: (no really)

I've always wanted a WMR. The hornet works amazingly well, and I figure the WMR's gotta be more of a good thing. Though I've never been much of a fan of shiny and colorful 10/22's, bolt actions are more my speed

What is a respectable group at 100 yards for a 22mag. My 93 hasn't been all that great then. I have gotten a few 1.5 inch groups but nothing better

That one group at 100 yards is very nice!

The top right on the far right one, ya, that was a good one. Hopefully more like that will come in the future. My rifle seems to shoot better with a warm barrel.

arnott1t, I would say a respectable 100 yard group would be .75-1.25" @ 100Yards. Basically anything in a gophers body at that distance.I know my rifle is capable of it and your Model 93 should be too. I'm just am having a hard time finding the ammo it likes.

100 yards is also a very hard distance to shoot at with a rimfire. I find quite often I can keep 3 shots or so in a .2CTC group or at 100 yards I have a lot of trouble getting all the shots to touch in a 5 or 10 shot group. Thats with my .22lr. Wind plays such a factor too.

The stocks on the savages are not great (the flimsy synthetic stocks) so you might have to glass bed it to get good results. Try putting a preassure pad in the barrel near the forend or a couple inches forward of the recoil lug. An elastic band or something like that should do the trick ;)

not too bad with that ruger i dont know much about 22wmr but i have herd from good sources like anchutz themselvs that 12hmr and 22lr are more acurate than 22wmr good luck looks pretty good to me though
