I'd like an extra 5 round mag for hunting for my MR1, and don't want the length of a 30 rnd pinned to 5. I have 2 LAR 10 rounders which I also don't want to pin. Looking for a retailer of a 15 rnd length metal AR mag pinned to 5 for .223, Thanks

I can't remember ever seeing 15 rounders, why not use a 20? There easy to find, or are you just being difficult: "I don't want a 20 rnd mag, I want a 17 rnd!- no 16.5!

Thank's I thought the 10 rnd LAR-15 mags were 15 capacity pinned to 10. That's the length I want but in a 5 rnd capacity, didn't see anything on Questar so I'll look thru some of the other sponsors. As for the hunting regs, I believe they state a maximum magazine capacity for centrefire but I'll check it.

Ya, there aren't any fifteen round AR magazines. Your best bet would be to go with a 5/20 round magazine or just get five round magazines with ranger plates.

If you're interested, I have a couple Magpul 5/20 rd magazines I may be willing to part with. Hit me up a PM.

Pinning an LAR mag to 5 for hunting depends on where you hunt. I am pretty sure ON allows any legal mag capacity for Centre fire rifle. You can hunt with 8 in a Garand for example.

Other jurisdictions may vary.

As for where you can get 15 round mags. Sorry, no clue.

Here was what I could find in the regs for ontario,

"Under the Criminal Code of Canada you cannot possess
any clip/magazine that holds more than five shots for a
semi-automatic centre fire non-restricted firearm unless that
clip/magazine has been specifically exempted, pursuant to
the Firearms Regulations."

so it looks like the 10rnd LAR-15 would be "legal" but with the appearance of the gun it's simpler to use the 5 rnd than argue with a C.O. or other L.E.O. who may be less well versed in the exemption than CGN members. I had this argument with a Waterloo Region Cop who, after I proved my point, said I should carry documentation of the exemption with me if using the 10 rd clips, as the average Cop would charge me with possession of a "prohibited device" and let a judge look up the legal exemption.

Gotta love that one. "I have no idea what I'm talking about but I'm about to seriously #### up your life."

Sad but true...Arrest them all and let the Courts sort them out.

Actually with the way the courts let really bad guys have a pass so much, I could not blame a cop thinking it would only be a minor inconvenience to be charged.:D
