Im on the fence, CZ scorpion evo or FX 9

Hello fella's !

I have seen good review on both carbine.

So here what i see so far :

CZ scorpion

Pro : It's CZ
ergonomic seem pretty awesome
also pretty customizable (sorry not sure of the term)

Con : No 10 shots pistol mag for it.

Fx - 9

Pro : Use glock mags
Also pretty customizable (sorry not sure of the term)
It's almost an AR in 9 mm

Cons : doesnt look as good as the cz.


So guy anything i miss/or opinions guys ???
 
I have an EVO and I freakin' love it. Like you said, the only con is the 5 round mags, but I'm used to that now. Only ever shot a FX-9 once and it was alright I suppose. I would say go for the EVO, but I'm a fairly biased. I admit I am a little bit of a Czech whore...
 
If you live in southern Ontario Target Sports has one you can rent. I shot a box of 50 and was unimpressed with the choppy recoil. I had KelTec which was worse and that is my only comparison.

Al Flaherty has some PWS 9mm carbines in. It’s restricted but they all will come October.
 
I would hold off until after October. Would really suck to pay that much for a NR only to have it turn into something else in a few months. I'm not saying it WILL happen, but that's why I cancelled my preorder.

Assault style bans will impact way more firearms than the evo.
Time to buy now since its NR, after the transfer bs gets put in place itll be too late.

Bingo. Buy it now while it's NR and isn't registered if you're afraid of changes to the classification down the road.

On a, related note, has the gun store record keeping part of c71 been brought into force yet?
 
Seriously, im not afraid of the C-71 and i dont give a #####,when ill have the rifle im pretty sure i will have a boat accident !

Bought a CZ Scorpion and love it. Was either that or the FX-9 for me as well. A friend of mine has both and we had both our scorpions and the FX out on the weekend. Let's just say the CZ's never missed a beat with handloads or factory brass, aluminum or steel case. Couldn't say the same for the FX sadly. Very nice little rifle, and 10 rounders are sweet. I am in no way knocking the FX but I am very happy with my decision to go with CZ after this weekend. At least the mags come on sale once in awhile for $25 so it's not the end of the world to buy proprietary mags. At least the CZ priced them so that they aren't $70 like my CZ 452 mags lol.
 
I had an FX-9 and I liked it but I shoot left and was getting hot gasses and powder residue in the face
Sold it and got an evo and glad I made the switch, the evo I think is the better of the two
 
Already have an AR that I'm keeping on principle. Never really liked them. Wanted the CZ and ordered it last year but distributor went past the C_71 deadline so that was the deal breaker. Went and bought another handgun instead. If the PCs get in and change things back I'll get a CZ but I don't want another potentially Restricted rifle that can't visit the great outdoors.
 
FX-9 is the great. Ran about 700 rounds no issues.
And the 33rd mag just look so damn awesome.

Fired both quite a bit.Both are accurate but EVO a bit better.More capacity in the FX-9 arena for sure.Evo has a more felt recoil due to large bolt. Reliability question the CZ is stupid reliable with everything I put thru it.With the FX-9 you are on a constant vigil for FTF or FTE depending on mags,bullet configuration,brass,powder loads and likes to be tinkered with.The EVO is like an AK keeps on chugging away no matter what.Quite simply if it's a life or death situation I'll grab the Scorpion with-out a second thought how's that?
