Got the itch bad for a 20g 20-ish" pump for rabbits 'n partridge. Only problem is the only guns I could find were turkish and I wanted something nice (have a canuck pump in 12 and it's excellent but I don't have anything "nice" so I wanted to join the club). Started considering getting a youth 870 or 500 but the added cost and pita of finding a full size wood butt stock as annoying to me. Weeks and months go by and I'm loosing hope. See a 870 but it's synthetic and if I'm getting something nice I'd rather wood. See a old winchester? But it's a fixed mod. Finally I see a nice used browning bps upland in wood with a straight stock bnib.... for $1000. Feller let it go for 900 but gd I payed $900 for a pump shotgun. I saw one on the same site for 650 just last night. A fool and his money are easily parted.

…the ‘itch for nice’ CAN be satisfied for ‘just a few dollars more’…Seriously consider the Winchester Mod 12 made in Japan under the Browning name. They have a standard grade, a high grade and a Ducks Unlimited version also. All fixed chokes (which is a good thing) and the DU has an Improved Cylinder 26” barrel. The others have Modified chokes. These shotguns are EXTREMELY well made and BEAUTIFUL unlike some of the crap being imported into this country. If you truly want nice consider one of these Win Mod 12s in 28g. We shoot mallards over decoys with bismuth shot and bunnies and birds with regular target loads. Maximum performance in a petite pretty package !!
If anyone jumps in and recommends a Mossberg 500 instead, it’s just the alcohol from too many drinks celebrating New Years Eve last night talking. Treat this as a belated Christmas gift to yourself. Don’t let a couple of extra bucks come between you and true happiness in 2025….
‘The Itch Master’ ….. Cheers !!!!

Don't think about the price, it will eat away at you and lessen your enjoyment of that nice BPS you own.

So, did you buy the second one at $650.- ..... and did you re-sell the first one for $900.- ?????

Winchester Model 12 shotguns are quite nice and come up at auction quite frequently.

I think I might have confused a couple guys on here. I'd already bought the first for 900 before seeing the second for 900. Truth be told I don't really regret my decision, it's just the ticket for what I was looking for. Full sized stock, 22" barrel and beautifully made. Being unused it's is perfect condition. I think I'm gunna take a page out of FatCatsDad here and try n forget the price

Well fruck, now I’m confused.
Nine fur 9…….😳🤔🦨

I had a stroke and read BSS instead of BPS and was real sad about missing out on both a 900 and 650 dollar BSS. Then I read pump and realized damn that's a terrible deal.
