Got these for Christmas from my friend that moved here from South Africa. Can`t wait to try them in my dads rifle when he gets back from his vacation!

Will do! Buddy said he used them for hunting deer and wild boar.....very little meat damage and the energy liquified the internals. I just looked on their website, they actually note that they can be used to reload 7.62x39..............interesting!

Those are solids eh... they're legal to use in Ontario but I don't know the legalities of hunting with them in the rest of Canada. You might want to check that out first. Legal or not, they won't give optimum results on light game like deer. Those are meant for maximum penetration on heavy game.

There are guys loading .308 170gr Partitions for moose and 200gr for suppressed mouse fart loads/sub sonic.

Pardon my ignorance but what's the difference between something like this and say the Barnes TSX?

The package says "solids". In African parlance, this means non-expanding. The Barnes X-series has a hollow point in the tip, sometimes with a polymer tip, that is supposed to expand.

My friends in SA use the light weight cone pointed Impala bullets and they work very well. I thought of using them here in AB but they are illegal as they are non-expanding.
