I bought a box of 20 "imperial special long range" 12 gauge 2 3/4 shotgun shells today and I was laughing my ass of thinking where the #### did they dig this up from and then when I got home and cracked it open and it has new challanger head stamps haha guess challanger is making imperial ammo again but I find it really cool that they made them in the older style boxes.anybody else seeing this. it's awsome

I saw these yesterday and thought they looked like old stock. I am kind of a sucker for "old style" packaging, so I might pick up a box and see how it runs.

Goin to crappy tire in the mornin to buy a bunch! They was my favorite lead shell ever #6 and #7-1/2 killed many a boat load of partridge with em! They reach out ther and touch em too...This is terrible I'm giddy as a kid on christmas now.

I understand the nostalgia BUT I grew up on Imperial ammo and found it very dirty burning, impossible to reload (melted crimps, too high of brass to resize) I also found that it was prone to stubbing (not chambering properly) My last complaint was that there was a definite gap between the mouth of the brass head and the plastic hull. I don't know how many ducks got away while I attempted to get this gap past the mag tube throat on my 870. Having said that I bought some and it is better than the original in all aspects but cost.

Good to hear Challenger is back in business. There is also a second Canadian manufacturer. " Score" shotshells are being made in Carberry Manitoba. Tried a box of 12 ga 3 1/2 inch and they patterned very well in my 870 with mod choke. I would encourage more people to try these Canadian products and use them where possible so we are not so dependant on products from south of 49.

Challenger has been in business for years. I've shot Challenger trap loads at the range and steel for waterfowl hunting for the last 6 years.

It would appear as if they are trying to resurface the lost "Imperial" name.

I told my dad that I seen Imperial shells at CT....

His eyes lit up....Started asking questions" DId they look old?" "Do you think they found them somewhere in a warehouse" "Did you clean them out?" "How many did you buy for me?"

I remember him saying that they were the best shells he found......I remember the day my brother stole all his old ammo and fired it off clay shooting think he wouldn't want it for anything else.....I'm sure people 10 houses down could hear him yelling LOL
