Challenger seems to have bought up the "Imperial" trademark, including box design and text. The Imperials from 20-40 years ago also said 'special long range' if I recall. They were also the only brand of shells that just claimed "max" drams equivalent of powder instead of listing a real number.
It does kind of annoy me that they come in a box of 20 instead of 25. I'm all for buying Canadian, but if the Federals are cheaper, I'm grabbing them!
The old Imperials came in both "Special Long Range" and "Magnum". The old paper hulls smelled absolutely heavenly!![]()

I grab these at gun shows when I can.
Getting a few rounds stacked up.
Dad back in the day bought the 2 3/4 magnums and I still have some marked Special Long Range.
Ohhh, the memories.
