Hello

Has this been sporterized and restocked or was it part of the 'big import' of Muskets made in the '60s with antique parts.

Proof marks that appear are Crown over W, Crown over CD
Barrel 32" and bore is 58 cal approx.

take care and thanks for the help

Greetings-Has the look of an inexpensive Belgian made piece made as you guessed in the late 60's. Would suggest there is not an old part in the whole works. See them at gun shows regularly in the 75- to 150- range. Have also seen similar made in Spain ( Eibar) and they hold about same value. Cheers.

I agree with Tiriaq, lots of arms like this were put together with antique barrels and parts on new stocks for the African trade and in the 60's-70's for the then new fascination with historical muzzleloaders and whatnot. I think you would find lots of arms like this in old Dixie catalogs.
