Anyone know whether we can legally import a revolver barrel from the US? I've been told the store in question in the US won't ship the 6 inch revolver barrel to Canada for me. I'm not sure if it's because of their export laws or our import laws. If anyone has any experience with this please advise.

Thanks!

A few things need to happen before you can 'legally' import it to Canada

- The manufacturer needs to have a 'export' license
- Since it's a 'major' firearm component and most likely a 'regulated' item, you'll most likely need a US export authorization for the US State Dept..

To get this, you'll need to send them a DSP83 form, a 'End User Statement', and a Canadian import permit and a written PO.

I think you need to add a little more information about your plight.
What is the barrel for? Which gun? Do you want a factory replacement barrel?
Almost all revolver manufacturers will not sell barrels, frames, and cylinders to the general public for safety/liability reasons. They will sell these three items to their factory representatives and repair depots however. Perhaps an aftermarket custom barrel might be a better choice?
