I have a friend that lives in Michigan and he has a used powder dispenser/scale combo (it's green) that he would sell me. Is there an issue bringing back items like this from the US? Are presses ok if I can convince him to sell me his whole old kit?

I bought a powder measure and a press through Amazon in the states -- no problems. Make sure they don't send it UPS, or you'll pay through the nose for brokerage (I find old fashioned US Postal Service works best).

Curiously, however, I couldn't get Amazon.com to ship reloading manuals to Canada.

Reloading equipment (press, dies, scales, tools) are OK,

Reloading components (brass, bullets, primers, powder) need a US export permit.

What about ordering from a store like Cabellas to get the rest of the stuff I need (case trimmer, press etc). They have pretty good deals.
