Just an FYI for anyone who has or was able to acquire one from Firearms Outlet Canada's Grand Opening Sale.

I emailed Wyndham in regards to accessories that would or would not fit on these rifles. I had read that some handguards do not fit due to their barrel nut. I had also bought an Armorers Kit from another Vendor when they had it on sale and it's good to know that I can't use the clamp style Vise Block with this particular rifle.

This is what I sent and what they responded with:

Just so everyone know. Hopefully this can answer some peoples questions.

Good afternoon,
I have a Windham Weaponry Carbon SRC on it's way and arriving tomorrow. Is this platform compatible with all/most aftermarket AR accessories? Specifically I'm wondering about stocks and forends for now. Thanks for your help.

Yes, your rifle will accept most AR 15 parts with the exception of the stock as we use the commercial spec buffer tube in our rifles.
Also our carbon fiber rifles barrel nut is a different diameter thread than a standard AR 15 barrel nut.
Any carbine length free float handguard that is designed to work on a standard AR 15 barrel nut will work fine but no free float handguards that require the change of the barrel nut will work.
Here is some additional information from our gunsmith regarding the barrel nut and barrel removal for our Carbon fiber rifles.

Important information regarding Barrel Nuts and Barrel Removal for our Carbon Fiber Rifles:

"I've had a few customers call me since we introduced the Carbon Fiber rifles saying they were trying to install a free float handguard and the barrel nut would not fit on the upper receiver. The barrel nut on our Carbon Fiber rifles has a different diameter thread than a standard AR15 barrel nut. This area of the Carbon Fiber upper was beefed up to make this critical area stronger. In so doing it was necessary for us to increase the size of the threaded area and therefore change the thread on the barrel nut to fit this. The outside dimensions of the barrel nut are exactly the same as a standard barrel nut. Only the inside diameter and thread of the barrel nut was changed. Any carbine length free float handguard that is designed to work on a standard AR15 barrel nut will work fine, but no free float handguards that require the change of the barrel nut will work.

Also for gunsmiths that are trying to remove the barrel on a Carbon Fiber rifle, it is important to have the upper on a barreling device that engages the lugs in the barrel extension. The clamp style vise blocks will not fit the Carbon Fiber upper, and you should never secure the upper by only the upper receiver takedown and pivot pin lugs. Torqueing against the lugs is likely to cause damage to the receiver. When we barrel the uppers at the factory we only use barreling spuds that engage the lugs in the barrel extension. Also note that we use a bit of Loctite on the threads. So if you remove the barrel nut it is very important to clean all of the dried Loctite out of the threads on the barrel nut so you don't risk cross threading during re-installation. It is also recommended to reapply a little red 262 Loctite to this area, and not exceed 30 foot pounds of torque when tightening the barrel nut."

Yeah I'm looking forward to fiddling with this one. Just waiting to pick it up today! In a matter of hours actually.

I had also read that there were issues swapping non-carbon uppers and lowers but time will tell. As soon as my PSA 7.62X39 Upper comes in from iRunGuns I'll try it out and see if there is any truth to that.

I've handled a couple of these - very interesting, and i can see why the changes they made would be necessary. They'd be a great rifle to base an ultra light PDW build on.

Here is the pic as promised. Sorry for the delay. This is a NcStar VISM Carbine Length Extended Handguard. It cost me $115.00 + HST at a local shop. Installed easily.

For anyone interested. I made a few more changes to my Carbon. I must say it makes HUGE difference in for function and feel.

I replaced the existing crap stock with a Magpul CTR Comm Spec from Questar. I put the upgraded Magpul butt pad on as well. It made a huge difference for comfort. Except for my beard. Lost half a dozen hairs to where the stock moves on the buffer tube. Wonder if anyone would question me if I shaved half of my face.

Also replaced the stock charging handle with a BCM Gunfighter Ambidextrous Medium Charging Handle.

I've also got a Magpul MIAD grip coming from Canada Ammo along with a Magpul BAD Lever, Carbine Length Handguard, and Keymod Vertical Grip.

Will fiddle when the time comes and post.
