Hey all. I have been around when others have had squibs, but yesterday experienced one for the first time myself.
I was using a gun in good repair and a reputible brand of ammo that I have used 7-8000+ rounds of in the past with no issue. I was shooting it out of a carbine and about 70ish rounds in suddently the bang was different from the rest and a bunch of black smoke billowed out from my carbine. I unloaded and grabbed a cleaning rod from a buddy and sure enough there was a blockage. When I unloaded the 1st brass had ejected and there was enough force to chamber a new round. I'm just glad that I had been around others in the past and knew enough to stop and check things out.
I know it's common sense, but I thought I'd give you all a reminder.
If something sounds wrong, feels wrong, smells wrong, looks wrong, or any combination thereof STOP and check it out. It's not worth blowing up your gun or worse causing an injury/death to yourself or others!
