I was considering purchasing a few 22 rimfire mags from the UK. For a 22 rifle that is not on any banned list, for now.Is it ridiculous paperwork to bring these into Canada from the UK. In case it matters, the capacity is 15. (Not a Ruger 10-22)

There's alot of corporate knowledge concerning importing from America. Not so much the UK and Europe just for mags-parts.

Curious....

A couple of years ago I bought a .22LR magazine for a Weihrauch rifle from a supplier in the UK. There were no issues. In fact I received it in less time than it takes for shipments from the west coast of Canada to arrive.

I bought some 22LR mags from riflemags dot co dot uk ... no problems, no paperwork, received in less than 2 weeks iirc. Obviously I made sure they were Canadian legal before ordering (because there are some mags that are legal in UK that aren't in Canada).

Interpretation of laws and rules and regulations tends to be a bug bearer.
A couple years ago I ordered some piggy back mags from the US. They are just the sell and regular 10/22 mags are disassembled and the guts installed into the shells.
I just looked and the name is not on them plus I do not recall. The name may start with a "T".
The first time the US customs agent looked for some prohibition and concluded they were not a magazine by definition.
Next time I ordered, the same agent found the prohibition and as an alien I cold not possess them in the USA.
One agent told me that a rifle scope was "Optical equipment" until it was installed on a rifle. The next agent said it was a rifle scope . . . but my friendly agent was present and she backed off!
There is luck and bad luck on any given day.

Seemingly Numrich will not export rifle mags of greater than 10. Even worse, "paypuds" is not an available payment method for mags of capacity greater than 10, USA. Possibly international too.

So. I spend my money elsewhere, using other means.

I have been looking for a decent rail for the ruger 77, and while they have them in the US, no one will send one up here.

Been looking to order from Australia instead, but at $140 for a rail that you can get in the US for $50, just doesn't sit right. This is before any shipping fees as well.

Have you tried kinney's shooting supply? Last I ordered they shipped to Canada

ITAR in the US is pretty straightforward, shouldn't be much of an issue if dealing with a reputable shop that knows how it works.
Where it gets ####ty is US companies that have exclusive deals with Canadian importers, they tend to have them block all their products being shipped north... pricing obviously being the issue there.
