Does anyone know if it is ok to bring back 5rd stripper clips from the US?
For Enfield, Mauser, Mosin Nagant, etc.
Empty of course, no ammo.
I was planning a car trip to the US and if I found some clips in my travels would I be ok to bring them back?

I would be curious to know what the law is. I purchased a dozen stripper clips for my K98 off ebay about a year ago with no issues. Although bringing them across the border in person may be different.

Legal to have them shipped up here, have gotten packs of stripper clips shipped from Numrich without issue.

... Interesting. All of the ones I have tried to order were not allowed to ship. The sellers always said they could not ship "magazines, clips or stripper clips" outside the united states.
It may be a dealer/seller policy more than a law, but from what I understood, no clips or bullet holding devices of any kind (to be used in a gun) could be shipped to us.

I tried with some Mosin clips, and some Swedish Mauser clips.

Very much doubt you'll find Lee-Enfield mag chargers, Stateside, easily. Believe they're ITAR controlled anyway. 5.56 Stripper clips cannot be exported for sure.

I've encountered dealers who wouldn't ship stripper clips, or heck, even stock screws for an Enfield, outside the U.S. for fear of running afoul of ITAR. Generally speaking, that's exactly what it is - fear of the law. ITAR is so borked and complicated, many dealers just default to "NO!" for shipping outside the U.S. for anything even remotely related to a military firearm, no matter whether or not it actually is controlled for export.

Numrich, unlike a lot of dealers, actually has a gal on staff that pretty much all she does is keep track of what can and can't be exported. I talked to her on the phone last year when I was ordering up some Enfield parts, she really knows her stuff. She rattle off from memory, what parts that I was ordering were fine, no good, or dubious, then filled out all the export paperwork and got my order shipped.

After that call, I was a lot less annoyed with the high shipping fees from Numrich. It costs $$ to have someone on staff who knows the ins and outs of export laws.
