I've imported a couple of guns. The C&R classification exists only through ATFE in the U.S. Here, if the gun has a barrel of 105mm or less, and if it's in .25ACP and .32ACP, it's not importable. You can do it on your own, but it's not just time consuming; it's really difficult. The only other alternative I know of is to go through a company like Questar. They're very good and very expensive. It comes down to how much you want the gun. Of course, if it's a non-cartridge gun, there's a good chance you can get it declared an "antique" by CFC, and not have to go through any of that.
