Hey Guys,

I have picked up a Webley MK I in the U.S. and am planning to send it to Canada.
I am hoping one of experts can help me out with a little advice.
Do I just need to mail it to myself and wait for customs, cfc etc etc clear it?
Should I put a letter inside the package, saying that its an antique etc, with its FRT # to help the process along?
How do you guys do it? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks,

JesperA

Jesper,
EDIT: All Webley MK1's are antique (thanks Dingus) .
Then, what I would do is get the CFC to verify that it is an antique, and getting them to fax you a document saying it. When asking them, be sure to send in the make, model, serial number, and caliber.

If you ship it back, include the fax and (optional: a printout of the antique gun laws) possibly a note. If you bring it back make sure you have a locked case and all the documents.

Anyways, that's how I'd do it, but you may want to wait for another reply from the gys who do it frequently (ex/Dingus).

Thanks,
Matt

Well all Webley MKIs are antique.

Legaly writeing Antique Revolver on the customs form should suffice but Mtallmans advise sounds good.
Depends which customs it comes thru.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice. I am bringing this revolver in to give to my dad on his 70th birthday next month.
In retrospect, I shoulda bought the F&W off of Dingus, this has been a mess.
When I bought it I had it sent to my brother in Indiana. When it arrived it was in a box that was orginally from a candy manufacturer. Well my sis in law and nephews thought my brother was getting some candy and promptly opened the box(even though it was marked to my bro's attention; and YES my sis in law is not gun friendly) You can imagine the outcome; not good for Jesper.

:D That sounds like a nightmare!
But who would ship a Revolver in a box marked candy  Did the Dealer do that ?

Webley MKIs are alot nicer well made guns than F&W tho so im sure your dad will love it.

I know........ it was from auctionarms.com The older nephew told all his friends that his uncle Jesper had a gun sent to his house.
The funny part(for everyone else but Jesper) was he said this at school. the funny part was that the prinicpal at his school said 'So what'

You gotta love that state, Indiana.

The bad part........... my sis in law likes me even less now :(

On the serious side, yeah, bad on the dealers part. But also bad on my sis in laws part..... opening mail addressed to someone else...

She's Southern Bapist, Im agnostic.
Here's a pic of me in my natural habitat... This is why she doesn't like me:
