this beats the W.A.G. formula. i type with 1 finger so this will be short. the pics tell the story and read between the lines.
the plires have a small crater in the round peice that goes in to the case and the screw is rounded on the end to dimple
the case inwards. this needs to be calibrated with a known pressure. 38 spl load data the gives 10,000 to 12,000 psi.
adjust your pliers so the dimple pops back out. more acurate with anneald brass. i shoot only round ball in my 44 russian .
round ball is half the weight of the oridginal bullet and way less drag with the small contact area. not much pressure needed
to get decant velocity.
