Impulse Buy

Sorry about that...I actually shot the Luger last night fore the first time. Tiny sights and a pretty heavy trigger but it performed flawlessly. It was quite impressive for having just turned 100!

I knowthey have a reputation for jamming but i fired 40 rounds without an issue. I was using S&B 124gr. I have read that they prefer the 124 and that European ammo works better because it is loaded a little hotter but I'm not sure.

Biggest problem is that the front sight tapers to such a fine point my 50+ year old eyes have trouble seeing where the top is.

Nice score on the Webley. I brought my Luger out for the first time to also celebrate it turning 100. Trigger was ok on mine but even though I held it like I was shooting my Beretta 92, I kept limp wristing it!?! I knew I was doing this because all of my other friends who were shooting with me and tried it out did not have any FTE vs 100% in my case. Go figure? But you did give me a solution to my problem, Sailor... I should start buying more revolvers.

I have got to leaern to stay off the EE late at night! ;)

Webley MK IV .22 target

Nice acquisition. I have the same problem. One night, while on the way to bed, I tripped over my wallet landing in my computer chair at which time my finger accidently hit the 'Buy' button. Oh well......

Another late night shopper here..its the one time that I know my wife is not going to walk into the room while Im holding my credit card up to the screen (verifying the numbers) and saying what the hell are you buying now...if shes asleep beside me I know exactly where shes at..

And just this am a buddy of mine texted me and wrote " saw you were up late last night online on the EE...so whats in the mail today..lol"

How long does it take to ship from EE (Elwood I assume?)

It is the equipment exchange here on the site that hooks up private buyers and sellers. I used to think it was Elwood as well when I first came to this site

It's not foolish impulsiveness boys - it's manly decisiveness!

I have gone the other way far too often: I once saw a beautiful replica Sharps BPCR in .85 - Something Or Other on the EE...and spent weeks trying to screw up the courage to buy it. When I finally did it was gone...prolly one of you slobs got my dream rifle...!!! :(

The old nickel goes "Ya snooze, ya lose..." applies. Too much of anything - even restraint, can be a bad thing...

Yup I've learned the hard way like that too many times. I've never regretted an impulse buy, but I have many regrets about guns I didn't jump on and buy immediately lol

I have one regret on an impulse buy. To fund a SIG 1911, I sold my S&W 610. I tried to justify to myself that I didn't shoot revolvers, can't get good 10mm ammo, only held 6 rds, bulky etc but I still kick myself over that one.
And the SIG is now a safe queen!!

I hear you on that. I sold a few that I totally regret as well... Doh!

Oh I know, but .22 ammo is so much easier to find than .455. (and it's not $1 per round.............yet;) )

Well, that's true, but shooting the .22 twice (or 100 times) probably still isn't as fun as shooting that .455 once....That's a beauty pistol though, if you ever decide to part with it give me a shout.

I have a sneaking suspicion i may end up owning a MK VI .455 as well someday.;)

I think they are very cool guns from a historical perspective.
