IMR 4166 in a 308 win

Has anyone tried IMR 4166 in 308 win with 180 grain bullets?
I was working up to the max listed on the Hodgdon website (45.1) and blew out a primer at 43 grains.
I was using a Hornady 180 gr sp interlock not the Speer as listed on the website but this seems like quite a difference since both are cup and core bullets.
 
don't use any listed load data as anything other than a place to start working up a load from the minimum charge.
 
Was the primer pocket a good fit. When the primer goes in way to easy I toss it. Lots of other presher signs to look for.
 
I use it with 150 grain bullets as my go to powder. you shouldn't be having any problems.
 
Thanks everyone for the input. The cases were once fired and no issues with primer fit. lots of other pressure signs at this level.
rci2950, can you pm me the load you are using for the 150 grain bullet.

I have loaded it in 7mm-08 and 303br. Hands down the cleanest burning powder by far for what I've used. Results at the range for accuracy are really good and SD and ES numbers are holding their own. I think there's merit to your statement. I've tried to be open minded with established parameters for powder selection and I'm finding 4166 hard to disregard.

The only drawbacks I've found is the price and the fact that it doesn't meter as well as other stick powders I use. Varget and VV540.

When I find it at a good price, I buy it.
