Have anyone used this combination before ? Hodgens website has load data online and are claiming 2850fps with 180 slug.
I picked up a pound to try out with some accubonds.
Please chime in If you have any experience with this powder
Tia.

Not sure why you wouldn't just use 4831 or 4350 with 180 grainers.

I think he is trying to achieve 2800 fps out of 180 gr. accubonds. With 4831 and 4350 2800fps is easy with 165gr. but 180's it is going to take a bit of work. R22 will give it to you but there compressed loads.

Op I have no experience with IMR 4955 because I never heard of it before. My 30-06 powder is IMR 4350 has been for decades, never had reason to change. 57gr. of 4350 with a 165gr Nosler partition on top has put a lot of moose in the freezer for me over the years. Has been a very accurate load out of my M-70.

I have come very close to 2900 with a 30-06 and 180 Partitions, using Norma MRP.
I have IMR 7977, IMR 4451 here, but have not tried 4955 yet. Dave.

It seems I have led a very sheltered life as I have never seen or heard of IMR 7977 or 4451 either. When I first started reloading in the early 70's I bought a Nosler reloading book at Ellwood Epps, read it, bought some IMR 4350 and a box of 165gr. partitions, loaded up some and went to the range. The M-70 push feed would put 3 in a group the size of a quarter on a fairly regular basis if I did my part. It even made a nice clover leaf three shot one hole on two occasions. I remember thinking, that was fairly easy. Only ever shot the rifle a bit before hunting season, so for the next 30+ I never seen reason to experiment with anything else. That load and rifle worked well for me. I was shot gun man mainly, as I shot thousands of rounds at trap, skeet, then sporting clays.
Only started expanding my horizons with rifles and reloading for them after I retired, I have learned a lot and do not consider myself overly knowledgeable on the subject yet.

So many of these "newly minted" powders coming out without any reloading information and the burn charts have not advanced to slotting them in to the picture.

Like trying to reinvent the wheel.

IMR 4350 is my go to as well. I was looking at trying something new. Just wanted to see if anyone else tried this combo.
I have 2 rifles that I'm gonna use with this combo
1980's Era savage 110 and a ruger m77 mk2 lightweight.
I will share the results when I get a chance to visit my local range
